Chay CEO

Born in Houston, Texas, Chayla Cooper, also known as Chay CEO, has been writing poetry since the age of 10. Falling in love with music at a young age, she often enjoyed listening to the heartfelt ballads of Babyface, Brandy, Aaliyah, Usher, and Luther Vandross to name a few.

With hopes of owning her own music production company, she attended Baylor University with the intention of receiving a bachelors in Business Marketing. Realizing she should probably know how to run the technical side of the music industry, she changed her major to Film and Digital Media to gain a hands on experience. While in college she produced several local artists, including her own album that gained acclaim on campus; going by the stage name The Spicy 1 at the time.

After college, Chay CEO moved to Austin, Texas to pursue her dream of working in the music field; being that Austin is the live music capital of the world. Since her move, she has gained connections with various promoters, DJs, club owners and more; laying the foundation for her marketing campaign. Releasing her first EP in 2016 entitled, The Sleeq Life EP, she received a small buzz in the city, making it to number 9 on the top 20 hip-hop/R&B countdown on station KAZI (88.7 FM). With a fan base growing, she is now ready to release her first full length album; Who is Chay CEO? This album full of R&B and hip hop influences, mixed with live instruments and lyrics will make you feel connected to the emotion she felt while creating this masterpiece.
