Stan Allen
I spent the first 37 years of my working life as an independent software developer. About the turn of the century, when the first digital cameras came out, I became fascinated by how you could work with digital images in the computer to give them a painterly look. That fascination quickly became my avocation and has opened a new world to me, one full of interesting people and great beauty.
In 2002 I was one of the founding partners of the “Artists’ Show Place Gallery” in Dallas Texas. Then in 2003, with my daughter Angie, I opened the “Bent Tree Gallery” in Taos New Mexico. In 2007 my wife, Myra and I sold our home in Dallas and traveled around the country in our motor home taking lots of photos. In 2008 we settled in the “art friendly” Hill Country town of Wimberley Texas and opened Bent Tree Gallery of Wimberley.
I show my work at the “Bent Tree Gallery of Wimberley” www.benttreegallery.com and numerous Art Festivals.
